hello! I am renovating an old wooden house and really need tips and help on how to best create smooth walls from pine walls.

- it doesn't need to be perfect in appearance (i.e. it can have some texture, not necessarily completely smooth)

I am really a rookie so all help is gratefully received.

thank you so much!!

the first picture is from the house, the other three are inspiration pictures to clarify.

  • Old wooden house interior with partially stripped walls, a white table under a window, and greenery visible outside. Renovation in progress.
  • An old wooden ladder leaning against a rough plastered wall in a partially renovated wooden house interior. Crooked metal ladder stands nearby.
  • Old wooden beam leaning against a textured white wall, with a vintage lantern and a small potted plant resting on a shelf. A green chest and basket below.
  • A newly renovated wall with a smooth, textured surface in an old wooden house, awaiting finishing touches.
Clay plaster or plaster with lime mortar.

The method already used probably works again, a panel material + wallpaper or why not just paste gray rag paper and paint the wall?
