I have removed the heating pipes from the floor, planning to add insulation and then put on a new cover.

The question is whether I should leave the plastic in place, or if I should remove the plastic, lay insulation, and maybe have plastic on top of the insulation? then the cover.

And how do I glue and nail to prevent creaking and other issues?

In short, how would you properly close this up?

If you're not going to have any pipes there anymore, I see no reason to keep the plastic at all. Remove and throw away.

how do I glue and nail correctly to avoid squeaking?

someone must have laid chipboard before?

Should I apply a bead of glue on the joists, or should it be in large amounts, or should it be silicone?
-Should there also be glue between the existing board and the cover I am laying now?

What kind of nails?

How much space between the cover and the wall, the cover and the existing floorboard?

Don't want it to start creaking..

appropriate amount of glue. screw as usual. no guarantees you'll avoid squeaking.
nails you can forget
