When reinforcing roof trusses (existing ones are about 100x100, reinforced with 45x145), how closely should the screws/nails be spaced for the joint?

Will you have a rule on each page, or...
what nail dim. are you planning to use??

Each truss has been reinforced with a 45x145. Fastenings were 5" nails and 120mm wood screws. This was done last year during reroofing. I screwed/nailed roughly c/c 300. However, I've worried that it wasn't enough. Added 100 160mm screws today as well. About 4 per truss.

if that were not enough .. What thickness of screw did you use .. Can you upload a picture so we can see the nail/screw pattern on a truss..

6x120 and 5" nails were used for the reinforcement.

The ones I drove in yesterday were 6x160.

C/c for the shorter screws and nails is between 250-300.

I drove the longer ones in where it fit best. About 4 per roof truss.
The roof trusses are about 5700 long.

I think this should suffice as you have varied the features in the plank
A diagram of a plank showing nail positions, labeled as spaced 600 mm apart, with varied spacing approximately 10 cm between each nail.
Approximately 10 cm between the nails and 5-inch nails..

I have not nailed/screwed like in your picture. Instead, fastenings go from top to bottom a little zig-zag like in my nice picture :)

Attach at the bottom and top a little more gathered without overdoing it so you have about 5-6 nails, then it's good..

Do you think it's better to use nails than screws?

If you have screws, go with that ..

Etiol, thank you for all the help :)

I did it with pleasure.
Thank you
