You need 145*45 C24 timber with a V-truss.

I think the company you asked just did that so you would have room for insulation.

So your current trusses are over-dimensioned then :), although you have no braces anyway.

Can't one assume that such old timber is a notch better than C24 as well?

Nice! Then it should work with two glued 45*120, right? Becomes stronger than a 45*145 if I understood it correctly.

Probably grown slower, so that might be true :)

Besides, Byggmax does not have 45x120 in C24 :( The smallest dimension they have is 145 :(

There are many other places besides just ByggMax?

Yes, we have Beijer too, but I prefer not to shop there. I've completely lost trust in the staff there after receiving completely incorrect "help" and unpleasant treatment.

But sure, picking a bit myself at their lumberyard I could probably do...

The alternative is to buy 45x145 at ByggMax and then cut down to 45x120 yourself. A bit more work, but not too bad.

Yes, I've been pondering the idea. It might be that I'll go with a simple 145 when the time comes for rafters. Then, the day I feel like furnishing the upper floor, I'll remove 25mm and reinforce with another cut-to-size 145.
