Hello Forum,

I’m planning to buy a hot tub. :D

The deck is my chosen location, and the deck is about 90 cm above ground level. It's on piers with a spacing of about 190 cm. Joists at 60 cm centers... I have (I think) over-dimensioned the deck construction...

Can I just place the hot tub on the deck? ... the hot tub with water and a few people can weigh up to about 2 tons...
To be on the safe side, I thought of reinforcing it from underneath with some extra support posts... what are your tips... is there a simple arrangement as a link between the ground and the underside of the deck? or other smart and simple solutions?

Thankful for any answers

Doesn't it look both nicer and more comfortable to lower the bath into the deck?

I placed an extra plintrad under the bath with double support beams and floor joists. It's incredibly stable, there have been 8 adults in the bath and a whole bunch around it, and it's stable as a rock. I didn't lower the bath as I might switch to a larger bath in the future.

I thought of trying to have it on the deck at least the first year and see... I have 3 little ones and thought it's safer to have it not so easy to step in (if you lower it..).. see pictures below.. (maybe it's easier to lower??)
