Horizontal studs and horizontal drywall - noggings in end joints?
I am adding extra insulation to a room in the cabin after a total renovation. To break the thermal bridges, I have installed horizontal studs and will be mounting the drywall horizontally. The reason I want to mount the drywall horizontally is to minimize waste since the ceiling height is only 210 cm and it's quite an effort to transport drywall sheets to an island.
There will only be one layer of drywall and I am now wondering if I need to add noggings for the butt joints? The studs are spaced 450 mm center-to-center and the drywall sheets to be installed are 90 (13x900x2400).
