We are undecided between horizontal or vertical paneling. We prefer horizontal, but have heard that there are greater risks with horizontal, such as moisture and mold damage. Does anyone know if this is true, or are horizontal and vertical fully comparable nowadays?

I don't think it matters much which panel you have. The weakest point is the end grain. If you protect it against moisture carefully and saw it correctly, it will hold up.

Personally, I use both vertical and horizontal as you can see on the website. ;)

It also depends on how the house is designed. If you take a house that is designed for horizontal and put vertical on it or vice versa, the architect will not be happy ;)

::) And what's the point of having a happy architect? ??? ;D

I myself use both vertical and horizontal as you can see on the website.

:-[ Thanks! :D
Vertical panel = Double tongue and groove 22 x 120
Horizontal dito = Beadboard 22 x 120
Baseboard = 22 x 120
Slanted board = 28 x 95 with a self-milled profile

More questions? ??? ;D

Perfect ;D Thanks for the info! Hmm..yes..I'm wondering a bit about the custom profiled board, tried enlarging the images from the website but they just became 'blurry'. Is the one under the windows and the one above the baseboard the same?? Hard to see, but maybe it's a droppbleck?

8) Yep, but the lower one sits ~ 20 mm further in than the other. You don't want to make it easy for yourself. ;D
If there's interest, I can email a profile of the bräda. ;)

Happy architect, well.. Let me put it this way: If the house is designed for vertical paneling and you use horizontal, the entire appearance of the house changes.

N
In the past, horizontal cladding was used in areas where the weather was harsh on the houses.

Thanks...I will get back to you once the panel choice is decided. ;D

Anyone else who knows the pros and cons?
