Hey there!
Can't find any info on this, so here's another post :geek:
We want to install horizontal interior paneling in the bedroom we are building. The idea is to add an installation layer inside the frame, and the best option is to place those studs horizontally to minimize thermal bridges as much as possible. But that makes it tricky with horizontal interior paneling  Can you replace the studs in the installation layer with battens & insulation spacers? How is it usually done?

Thankful in advance for any helpful answers :D

If it's going to be a surface layer, you can place OSB behind the drywall in your wall and then you're free to screw your panel however you want on the surface.
