Need to replace hinges on my wardrobe doors.

My current ones are 62mm, but can I use the 55mm ones instead?

You can do that, but it's significantly easier to switch to the same size.
And also less afterwork.

I want to buy new ones, but it would cost around 600:- and I need to prioritize other things, so please feel free to explain the post-work in more detail.

I had a plan, but maybe you have a better technique.
