Can you use timber studs on the floor and metal studs on the ceiling? Shouldn't have any sexual significance, right?
That's absolutely fine.

Sure, but why??? It would be simpler to use a metal stud on that end too...

Don't know.. I don't have much experience with building. I'm thinking it feels easiest to work with wood..

I agree with you, it's easiest to build with wood. But for floor and ceiling joists, using metal studs is very convenient, so you don't have to toenail. The only tricky part is that you need something to cut them with, like metal shears or a really fine-toothed jigsaw.

So you attach the profile to the ceiling with adhesive, and to the floor in a suitable way. Then you place the wood studs in the profiles and screw through the side of the metal stud. If you're precise with the cutting, you can even skip the screws until you put up the wood panels and attach them with the same screw.

Sounds convenient! I’ll think a bit about how I do it.
But it does sound quite convenient with metal studs in the floor and ceiling.
