Hello everyone...

I've been wanting to build a pizza oven for a long time. I've felt that my masonry skills aren't too advanced, and that it would be a waste to spend money on something that will probably break:o

However, I saw a video on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sny2MCND3nA

He seems to build a dome with simple means without firebrick, etc.
Does this really work?

Can I use regular cement and some type of aggregate?

If so, what kind of cement should I use?
I'm really a beginner when it comes to casting. So, tell me everything I should know:confused:

Thanks in advance

Hello Stonegrove,
I have built a classic wood-fired pizza oven with a chimney. A concrete base plate forms the foundation for this oven. The oven was constructed with fire-resistant mortar, insulated with vermiculite, and then the exterior was finished with fire-resistant mortar.

Here is a link with instructions and pictures.http://husplaner.se/vedeldad-pizzaugn/

A wood-fired oven is a sure way to enhance the atmosphere with a high coziness factor. I am happy to exchange ideas with fellow pizza enthusiasts. //Lajla
