Yes, there's probably a lot to think about :)

I've considered a solution with hooks on the support legs and also having a chain on the inside of the hatch.

I'll only need to access bed linens often, the rest will be more tablecloths, curtains, games, and Christmas stuff.

There are a lot of variants, including ones with friction locking that only require a small downward push to lower the lid. It's been a while, but I've bought good models at Hornbach.

I was thinking more about how we would attach them since we don't have a kitchen cabinet with partitions that line up with the lid. It's just a framework.
 
From what I can understand from the images, there should be no problem attaching a hinge holder to the studs. Doesn't take up much space.

Now the construction of the boxes is in full swing

It ended up being Ikea's hinges for kitchen doors. Cheapest that way and then it will be gas dampers two/ lid :)
