Hello everyone!
I have been renovating the house for many, many years and it's now time for the workshop, which will also house an apartment. I have some pretty ugly cracks on one end wall and would like some advice on the best way to fix it. My idea is to knock down the gable end to reduce the risk of collapse and recurring problems, and instead rebuild it in wood. Below the windows in the picture, I plan to cast a ledge that is doweled into the existing wall about 300x200 WxH, approximately at floor level inside. This is mostly to prevent the wall from "sliding apart" more than it already has. All the roof water drainage will be fixed since settlement is what caused the cracks. But I'm not daring to dig until the gable end is addressed due to the risk of collapse.
Do you have any really good advice to give me?????

More pictures available! You can see the cracks under the windows, among other things. You can see the wall material by the leca, Scania technique from the Stone Age, not fun at all. Just gravel and small stones mixed with lime, I guess.
