I have a number of square tubes inside a range hood that need to be lightly insulated against the heat generated when burning in the fireplace under the hood.
The beams are screwed into the wooden ceiling above, and I don't want to lead the heat up there.
Regular insulation is not easy to apply, but is there a product that can be sprayed on? There is some foam-like fireproofing of structural steel beams in high-rise buildings.
The temperature is about 100 degrees.

have you not found stone wool insulation with steel mesh?

I think you should go for stone wool mat anyway.

Is it mainly convection heat or radiant heat you need to protect yourself from? An alternative might be to place mineritlister on the heat-exposed sides as well. Perhaps you could even plaster them a bit extra to achieve even tighter protection?
