I am thinking about the storm and all the trees that must (or?) go to market? :-/
Wonder if it could benefit us in construction thoughts. :-X

It is doubtful because the fallen forest is only suitable for pulpwood. Even if the tree has broken far down, cracks have formed in the trunk, making the timber unusable for sawn goods...

I agree with Magnus_Nordmark. However, the prices of goods such as board and chipboard could be affected in the right direction,

Do not agree! Much of the storm-felled forest is perfectly fine. Large trees often fall with the root, so-called root throws. These logs are just as good as usual! The trees that have broken/split are often smaller and would have only gone to pulpwood and firewood anyway. Sure, there is also some large forest that has broken, but a lot is fine, if they just manage to retrieve it in time... I don't think builders will benefit either. That money ends up in the already well-filled pockets of timber buyers. The ones who should benefit are the forest owners who have large loans on their farms and have lost all their forest without making a penny in profit from it...

In the short term, the timber price may drop slightly, but after a few years, the price will rise.
