it depends on what you're looking for with hard plaster?

The EK boards weigh a little more so they probably contribute to slightly better sound insulation and fire protection. For putting things up on the wall, they are of no use as regular ones work just as well.
The answers were as vague as the question
It seems like hard plasterboards are not used much in Sweden?!
Here in Finland, extra hard plasterboards (so-called EK) are often used when you want a more durable wall like in a garage, but it's not so common to have OSB under the plasterboard.
Without thinking too much about the choice of boards, I've used hard plaster + OSB in the house, because if you're "serious," you use "EK" board (only?) and if you're "serious," you have an OSB board under the (normal?) plasterboard.
Now I'm working on the garage and there I will have OSB underneath, but when I think about it, I believe the benefit of hard plaster is not that great then.
Regular plasterboard is cheaper and lighter.
