Maybe I've landed in the wrong forum section, but I'll give it a try.

I'm going to hang wall cabinets, IKEA kitchen model, on the wall in the laundry room. Three cabinets with a total width of 180 cm. I don't have any studs in the wall and tearing up the drywall to fix this is out of the question.

My idea now is to mount a 28x70 batten at the top and bottom and then attach the cabinet to these two horizontal battens on the outside of the wall. I have four wall studs to attach the battens to.
I would hope that it will suffice with approximately 45 mm long assembly screws for the cabinets into the battens as I want to avoid perforating the vapor barrier unnecessarily.

What does the expertise on the forum think about the strength of this mounting?
 
Alternative solution: A support beam (28x70 as you say) under the cabinets, and the regular screws for the cabinets at the top in the IKEA-way into Molly anchors through the drywall.

Where is the vapor barrier located? In a laundry room, it's usually behind the tiles or in the plastic wall covering, right?
Then there should be no problem with "perforating the vapor barrier unnecessarily."
 
No problem, will keep.

Even better if you replace the glesen with 22 mm plyfa, which you cut into strips. This avoids longitudinal cracks in the glesen that can ruin the strength of the assembly.

I think I’ll continue with the glesen that I take and pre-drill for the four screws I’m going to drive into the wall studs. Thick plyfa was extremely expensive. Then I’ll go ahead and drill for the short screws I use to attach the cabinets to the glesen.
