Hi, I've just bought a house (70s house) and now it's time to start getting things up on the walls! Having something other than concrete in the walls is a new experience for me!

I thought it was drywall, but when I poked around in an existing hole, something that looked like sawdust came out. I put on my silk gloves and leafed through the building plans. I could read there that it's "porous boards" in most rooms and drywall only in a few rooms.

Does anyone know what kind of boards this might be? I read a bit online about different boards and different hardnesses but am unsure what it is.

Is this something you screw directly into, or should you plug it first? The previous owner seems to have pulled screws without plugs for curtain rod brackets. The thickness of the board (boards?) seems to be at least 25 mm. Does this indicate double boards? How thick can it be before you go through the board (boards?)?

For hanging heavier items, like a flat-screen TV, are expanders suitable? Or should one use tox trika plugs or some other plug? Or screw directly into the board? Of course, finding a stud and driving long screws into it is recommended for some screws.

Recommend metal expanders in porous boards. Just use the correct length of the expander.

Looking for the studs I would do for a flat-screen TV for example.
