It's very interesting with these kinds of projects, where you build a new house inside an old one. It sort of turns all thoughts on house building upside down.

I think I've only read about it in fiction before. I have a vague memory of a story by Aksel Sandemose (Yes, that's correctly spelled), you know, the one with the Law of Jante.

Oh, I thought it was common to utilize existing buildings, and if you're as lucky as I am and can build 3400 in ceiling height without having to account for the slope of the barn roof, it's at least in my world a "no-brainer".
