Hi there. I've removed the boxes around the ceiling beams in the Skåne cottage. As you can see in the pictures, it left a messy result on the wall. What would we recommend to make this even, tight, and neat? Sealant, plaster, filler, replastering the wall, use a coving around a concave corner? Or do you have another smart solution that's outside my box?

  • Wooden ceiling beam with rough edges exposed, gaps visible at wall intersection, next to a ruler for scale, showing renovation progress of a Skåne house.
  • Close-up of a wooden beam with rough, uneven wall surfaces around it after removing decorative panels in a house renovation project.
  • Exposed timber beam with a rough gap at the ceiling, showing insulation material, and a ruler for measurement. Discussion on smoothing the area.

I guess you want visible beams.
Plaster will crack when the house moves during stormy days.
Instead, put wooden strips against the ceiling and around beam ends.
