The plaster and joints in the basement have done their job in our house from -36. Both plaster and joints crumble at the slightest touch. I assume it's some form of lime-based mortar that should be used.
I would also need to take the opportunity to repair some facade joints as well. Is it possible to use the same joint as indoors?
What tips do you have on approach and materials?
Thanks in advance

Yep, it probably needed drainage but I feel that it would be good to regrout as much as possible before starting to dig.
Anyone have tips on method and materials?
Both exterior and interior walls are equally crumbly, so I don't think it's just moisture that has leached the lime.
Do I need to be just as careful in choosing the type of mortar on non-load-bearing walls as long as it's soft?
