Hello!

Do you have any idea where and how to get hold of these mexitegel?
I've had alerts on Blocket for 2 years and have managed to gather a few! I need about 200 stones to complete our extension!

Grateful for any information that can be provided :)

Best regards, Rasmus

  • Dark gray brick wall with shadow, showing textured mexitegel bricks stacked horizontally.
  • A single textured concrete block, also known as mexitegel, placed on a wooden surface.
Check with yxhult if they know anything?

I have been in contact with yxhult and I recall getting the answer that they have sold the machines abroad!

I think that's correct, I believe they only make the white one nowadays.

Yes, exactly! Only white ones are being manufactured but I don't feel like changing the whole facade or painting it!
Any other thoughts on where one can find this tegel?

The gray was probably called "fjällgrå". I have heard rumors that manufacturing is also happening in Denmark; maybe you can try your luck there?

@mexitegel do you know a good classifieds site for this in Denmark? I've been googling a bit but it's hopeless in Danish!

Sometimes loaded in Kumla at yxhult and then they were only white, but it shouldn't be impossible to throw in some pigment.

Even if the machines are abroad, they probably buy their stones from somewhere. It may become expensive, but I guess if they are missing 200 stones, it may not matter if they are expensive.

The Danish probably went like this.

Stones from the country a little north of Colombia, color not black but not white, rather near white.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Denmark has different standard measurements for their bricks!
The dimensions of the brick I'm looking for are
LxWxH = 250x100x65mm
This suggests to me that it should be Swedish-made!
I'll check with Yxhult tomorrow to see if they can help with anything:)

Hi.

Old thread but did you manage to find this brick anywhere? I'm in the same situation and may need a small number of this particular variant.

I found one in Skåne who had taken down a wall, and since the stones weren't enough for their extension, the 1000 stones I bought there helped me a bit further but not all the way! We had to use corner bricks, trim them, and use them on the backside of the house (the top 9 layers), sure the joint ran a bit but what can you do, and we have 4 windows as well! I went around Scania to building recycling places and demolition companies but didn't have any luck! Maybe there's a better supply closer to the manufacturing area!? I have a few corner stones left which are 3rd grade sorting that I chose not to use, but you probably don't want them! Best regards, Rasmus
