I have a door casing that I'm not quite sure how to attach.

Nailing is a bit tricky because the door is a sliding door, the nail can't go too far, and there's also a bit too much flex in the wall to want to use a hammer (can't reach to hold against it without disassembling the door + cover strips). A nail gun with short nails might work, but I'm not too keen on buying another tool that I don't have much use for.

So my thought was to screw and fill over, but it seems difficult to find sufficiently small screws with a narrow countersunk head. (The moldings are profiled, so it becomes complicated to fill larger heads neatly.)

Gluing doesn't seem like a great option either.

Screw list! (I would glue though!)

Wood screws for trim installation, with a suggestion to use glue instead.

Best regards, fremax

Those screws are a bit tricky!

If something goes wrong, and you'd like to unscrew them, it's practically impossible.
This is due to the "reverse-threaded" section under the head.

(And yes, I have lots of them in my wall panels.
But for moldings and trims, I prefer to use dyckert nails.)

Gluing sounds good!
I'll try that tomorrow on window trims with No More Nails.

Wish me good luck :)

Have put up quite a few moldings with no more nails, works excellently.

small brads maybe? Nailed all the moldings in the pearents' house with them. But you have to be careful at the end because you usually have to drive them in with a flat punch if you hit them in a recess. If you're precise, the end result is almost invisible and requires no further work. Kind of like using a nail gun but manually.

It ended up being sheet metal screws and filler in the end. Sheet metal screws because the screw ended up over a metal edge in the sliding door frame. I thought about screwing next to it first, but didn't quite have room for that.
