I have 4 holes of 18-20mm in the natural stone similar to the image where I need to have fixing. Are there such large plugs available to purchase somewhere? The gates are to be mounted between the two natural stones, so the fixing needs to withstand some weight. I will attach 45mm deep battens directly to the stone which will act as spacers before the gate is mounted.
My latest idea is to insert a stainless steel threaded rod, preferably M12 or M16, into the holes and then secure it with a suitable kit that bonds well with the stone. But what should I use to inject in? The idea is then to drill a hole straight through the 45mm batten that will sit outside. Then countersink from the outside and fasten it. Since the gate will be outside, it won't be visible that I've countersunk and put a nut on the outside because the gate will cover it.
Anchor mass (same as Chemical anchor) as written above. Use a regular caulking gun. Actually, you should probably mount hinges directly into your holes according to something similar (without a nut of course)
Shouldn't it work to set a long nut with anchor mass?
Which would then mean that you should be able to get adjustment capability on a hinge (like the one in post #5).
