Hi! In the garden, I have an old concrete staircase that looks shabby, and I'm now considering various options. One of them is to add some concrete where needed and then cover the staircase with concrete paving stones, 210x140x50 mm. Is it feasible if I use plenty of stone glue, like PU700, or can I expect stones to break loose every winter due to water seeping down and freezing between and under the stones?

Why glue and not cast the stones?

I thought that it might give me the opportunity to do one thing at a time in peace and quiet, but I'm not sure.

I think you'll get the best results by taking the opportunity to cast them in place. However, note that there is a minimum limit to how thin you can cast concrete.

If you're unsure about casting the stone, you can glue them with natural stone adhesive approved for outdoor use…

Why spend money on paving stones and glue or cast them in place, isn't it better to cast a 5cm slab over the entire surface?

The wife wants paving stones in varying shades on the patio next to it, I thought it might look nice if the steps matched.
