I am going to lay limestone tiles in front of a stove in my old house. The area is 90 x 45 cm.
The tiles will be laid on 22 mm chipboard. The rest of the floor consists of solid old planks.
What kind of adhesive should I use?
There won't be any major load other than when lighting the stove.

Nice to have limestone for the stove. Absolutely right. Don't you set these with tile adhesive rather than glue? Ideally, the substrate should also be floor gypsum to make it solid.

We have limestone ourselves by the fireplaces. It's actually loosely placed on a cast surface. It's probably way down on the to-do list to fix these with adhesive and grout in between. However, it works quite well loosely too. They lie close together and on an even surface, so they stay in place.

Check the Mysinge Sten website where you'll find all the information you need regarding limestone. Look at the brochure titled "inomhus". I believe it's okay to use adhesive like epoxy-based glue, but keep in mind that if you use fix, it should be intended for limestone. This also applies to the grout.
