I'm pondering further on the carport and having difficulty choosing the support beam and number of posts. (Carport 6x8m with a gable roof and concrete tiles and storage)

On sites like moelven.com, you can get help with determining the size of the glulam beam needed to create a free opening of x number of meters, which is nice. Is there a similar tool to check what, for instance, a 45x220 beam can handle or why not two screw-glued 45x220s?

Regular timber will also appear if it is an option.
Double 45x 220 c24 is about 20% weaker than the equivalent glulam beam.
