I want to enclose the patio shown in the picture.
It is a summer house located in Norrtälje, so I have to take into account that there may be some snow in the winter.
The patio measures 4.6m x 1.9m, the picture is taken from the short side.

My concern regards the long side of the patio.
Ideally, I would like to have a full glass section with 4 sliding doors, but without a central pillar for support. Currently, there is a 9x9cm pillar at a distance of 3m from the corner.

My question is whether I fully dare to remove the pillar?
How should I go about bracing up the reduced load-bearing capacity?

An alternative I am considering is to move the central pillar about 80cm closer to the wall and have a fixed glass wall between the pillar and the wall. My section with sliding doors would then not be as large, but I wouldn't have affected the load-bearing capacity as much.

Suggestions and advice are sought

Red-painted open porch of a holiday home in Norrtälje, with a wooden railing, roof, and visible snow outside; consideration for glass enclosure.
