I have a patio where there are currently stone slabs. Roughly 7x2 meters. Here, I am planning to build a deck/wooden terrace instead.
I have lifted a couple of slabs and seen that there is about a 25cm layer of sand under the slabs. Under the sand, there seems to be a lot of blasted rock.
The slabs are level with the patio door, and I would like to have the wooden deck at the same level.
I have some different thoughts on how it should be done. How would you do it? Dug down posts to build the frame with, or are there other smart tips?

Depends, if it is a patio/sundeck that does not need to bear weight, it's enough to place the frame directly on your stone with sill paper in between. But ideally, you should have a layer of macadam in between. Maybe sand works too.

Why pay for plinths when you already have the tiles for free? Or are you going to use them for something else?
