Hello

I'm considering building gate posts out of concrete blocks and then plastering them... and of course, gates will also be installed. Will this hold? Or are concrete blocks too weak? Model larger gate approximately 2 meters per gate.

Best regards
Oscar

Won't hold.

Nah, the gate is likely to break them... cast instead!

Ok what I understood :)

What measurements should you have? Maybe you can build a shell of 7cm leca blocks and then cast in the middle?

How can you say it's not possible when no conditions other than a larger gate, 2 meters are specified???

Well, not thought it out yet but around 20-30cm x 20-30cm..

We have two gate posts, about 2 meters high, made of lecabalk! Holding up excellently! Managed to crack one when we had to drain and move them, they weren't even reinforced, but have held up well otherwise. Maybe something to try?

Thanks for the tip

But if you play with the idea... if you make a shell of lecablock about 10cm on each side, then fill it with concrete in the middle... it should hold, right? Let's say the posts should be 30x30 cm, buried about 1 meter into the ground, and each gate is about 2 meters long and made of wood... any thoughts? Bad idea?

If one toys with the idea, sure, but why?
