I was thinking of setting up a gate for the driveway before the wild boar season kicks off in full. I have an existing fence with sturdy posts at the driveway where I plan to attach the gate.
There are two thick (20 - 30 cm I would guess, haven't measured) iron pipes filled with concrete.
The problem is that they are very crooked. From the side, it looks like this
So the question now is how I should attach the gate, or rather, the hinges for the gate. Should I attach them along the centerline of one post, or should I attach them vertically? What will look best? Unfortunately, aligning the posts is not an option. Attaching the hinges along the centerline I think would look best on the hinge side, but it will look really bad on the other side, where the gate handle will be. Attaching them vertically will probably make it look somewhat crooked on both sides... The gate will open out over the downhill slope you see in the second picture.
Vertical or slightly tilted outward, so they stay open when you need to drive the car out/in.
Outward? It would be inward, right? In that case, the post is already leaning in the right direction, so it would work to place it along the centerline. But then, as mentioned, it meets very obliquely with the other post.

If you place them on the inside of the post and the gate opens 90 degrees outward, it will be correct if you follow the post's inclination, if I've understood it correctly.
THE GATE DOES NOT NEED TO BE FLAT BUT CAN BE TWISTED SO THAT IT MEETS BOTH POSTS IN THE CENTERLINE
Yes, I've considered that too. But how do I get the gate twisted? I was thinking of building a simple gate by making a frame of boards and then placing a board diagonally across it. Or will the gate perhaps be so "soft" that if you have a proper closure, it happens automatically? (A stop at the bottom and a handle or something similar at the top)

I'm going to place the hinges on the right post in the top picture. It is the post that leans to the left in the second picture. The hinges will be aligned with the other gate post, and I'm planning to open the gate 90 degrees. So when it is open, it hangs a bit downwards (due to the post's inclination) and thus partially follows the downhill seen in picture two.
