I read a bit in another thread but it seemed to become expensive and complex.
My daughter has a rabbit hutch whose lid is very heavy. It would be wonderful to have a damper that cushions the lid when it's on its way down with its weight.
Looks like it does in the picture sideways. Wondering if there's a simple solution from Jula or Biltema?

There are several similar ones and also in Swedish stores. Just search for gasdämpare.

I think they seem easier to attach than those for cars.

The lid might weigh around 20kg, what force on the fitting do you think would work?

Yes, it would have been something if it could be screwed onto the hatch.

The budget version can be to attach a rope/thick cord to the lid, then to a pulley and a weight on the other end of the rope/cord. It won't look as nice. It also depends on how it's positioned.

Hello
Make a new lid and/or install a counterweight.
Consider the installation if you are going to use a gas strut so it is strongest in the lowered position when the hatch is heaviest.
Good luck.

Of course it can, an angle of some form and the problem is solved.
