Hello!

I have a front door that doesn't sit quite straight as there is a small gap at the bottom, letting air in. It's not large, but I'd like to have this fixed before winter. It's the entire door frame that's a bit crooked, causing the gap. How can I make the door frame straighter? Can I screw into the side of the frame and adjust it there somehow?

Thanks

Are you sure that the frame is warped and that it isn't the door leaf that has sagged?

Cross-measure the opening in the frame (measure both diagonals). Check all sides with a level. Ensure that they are plumb/level and straight. Also, check the sides of the door.

Upload a picture taken straight on from the outside when the door is closed.

Is the door leaf straight? It's not uncommon for the door leaf to "u" so to speak. It's also common to set both sides of the door frame with a spirit level, thinking it will be perfect, but the best way is to set the hinge side with a spirit level (leaning out/in), then place a screw either at the top or bottom on the latch side, whichever suits the particular case best. Then hang the door leaf and almost close the door, squint and adjust the latch side until the gap is completely even. This way, you get a tight-closing door, which is not always the case when using a spirit level. (If you have an insensitive, cheaper spirit level, it becomes even more difficult).
