I was thinking of doing a simple extension on the barn, but the floor needs to be raised half a meter from the ground.. I have both pine and spruce lying around and was considering cutting poles from one of these, but which is better, pine or spruce?

Pine is more rot-resistant. So there I would have chosen pine.
