Hello

I have scoured the web for this but haven't found anything good.
We currently have a house with a flat/low-pitched roof that we want to completely change the appearance of. We want to add a scissors truss and have it open up to the ridge. I can't put the new trusses on the old roof, so I need to place the new ones on the top plates when they arrive. Has anyone done something similar and can offer some tips on a good way to demolish the existing one and at the same time avoid rain indoors. Attached is the structural drawing of the existing one.
