We plan to build a simple bike shed with walls, but without a floor. The plan is to cast pillars for the walls, but we are a bit uncertain about the foundation. What we have in mind is to dig out 20 cm, lay a ground cloth at the bottom, and fill it with some form of gravel. My question is what type of gravel should be used when the gravel needs to function both as drainage and a floor.
