Forgot to tape the joints on that plastic in the wall?
Hello, I'm currently building or completely renovating a small two-story house. 75sqm.
95 mm insulation plus 45mm on the inside and 45mm on the outside, totaling 18.5cm of insulation. That's the setup around the entire house.
I did the ground floor first, and I've only learned from reading how to do things, so I placed the plastic in the wall on the ground floor inside the 45 frames WITHOUT TAPING any joints. I didn't know you had to be careful around the windows either. The windows aren't enclosed yet, and the walls haven’t been plastered with OSB + gypsum.
Do I really have to take everything down just to tape?? I can fix around the windows. I left a bit of plastic outside, which can be taped to the windows, but the walls with untaped joints? I've overlapped by 30, but it might not be very tight.
Will my wall rot now?
Another thing is in the hall there's a fuse box where I couldn’t put plastic either, only around it.
Will this work anyway? 18.5 cm insulation in walls without mold and junk
I will tape carefully upstairs, haven't finished there yet.
Grateful for a response! If I have to take everything down and tape, it's a pain, I've already started installing the kitchen on the ground floor...

It's probably fine, the plastic is clamped between the studs and the OSB.Moset said:Hi, I'm currently building or completely renovating a small two-story house. 75sqm
95 mm insulation plus 45mm on the inside and 45 mm on the outside, making a total of 18.5cm insulation, so it's around the whole house.
I did the ground floor first, and I've only researched how to do things, so I placed the plastic in the wall on the ground floor inside the 45 posts WITHOUT TAPING any seams. I also didn't know you had to be careful around windows as well. I haven't boxed in the windows yet or plastered the walls OSB + GYPSUM...
But can't be bothered to take everything down to tape?? I can fix around the windows; I left a bit of plastic outside that can be taped to the windows, but the walls with untaped seams? But I have a 30 overlap, but maybe that's not so tight.

Will this work anyway? 18.5 cm insulation in walls without mold and stuffI'll tape carefully on the upper floor, haven't finished there yet.
Thankful for any answers! if I have to take everything down and tape, ugh, I've started installing the kitchen on the ground floor as well...
I haven't squeezed it between any studs at all :/ it lies freely between standing 95 studs and lying 45 studs.
I don't have ventilation now because I'm still building, but I plan to install pax, I think it's called, in the bathroom for air and in the kitchen, and open up a vent on the upper floor (supply air). That should be enough, maybe?
Of course, I’ll have negative pressure in the house.
But then maybe I won't have to tear everything down
