Hello,

As several of you know, I'm building with Isorast. Their blocks are "toothed" on the top and bottom so that one block can be assembled with another (just like a Lego piece). When the block is placed against the slab, there is a gap between the slab and the block. To prevent the concrete from flowing into this gap, they are sealed with foam. Now that it has rained heavily, the water has hit the foam "bubble" on the outside. When I check the inside of the wall, I can see that there is moisture in certain places and I feel that it has entered through the joint.

The foam protruding from the facade is supposed to be cut away and plaster will be applied over it. Is that how it should be? Will it really be sealed in the future?

Foam is also used in window installation, so the same problem is likely to have occurred there as well? Can anyone tell me what I should do?

Hi Fröberg,

I'm a bit curious about Isorast, as we are deciding whether to build with them in Jönköping. I have followed your posts and understand that you are very satisfied with the collaboration. But I'm curious about how you solved the moisture problems, as it sounded a bit scary that the house wasn't sealed. Is Birger helpful when problems arise, or how is it handled? Please write a response or even better, give me a call if you want at 0736-353 353.

Best regards, Maria
