Considering a thick string superfix, or at least pressing it in where there's a joint, so that the board is supported at least every 555mm. Thinking about shimming in masonite glued with wood glue, or adding another joist but then it feels like it will just be joists and barely any insulation. Will groove the chipboard subfloor.

Wooden beams with measuring tape showing spacing on construction project for supporting chipboard flooring. Shavings and insulation visible around beams. Tape measure showing 555mm distance between two wooden beams, possibly for floorboard support in construction discussion. Measuring tape across wooden beams at a construction site, showing a distance of around 55 cm between supports.

Even though there will be a lot of timber, isn't it quite common to level hanging floor beams with a joist on both sides? That's what I would have done anyway.

Perhaps it's enough to screw-glue a thinner board to the side of the old floor beam?

Thanks for that tip, well 95x22 panel or something similar it will probably be, and then I'll strip out the wood fiber insulation and place it in the gap that will be on the old beam so it will be tight and good.
