Now we have repainted our pantry and are planning to make racks for wine on one side and have some food on the other side.
You can see the floor in the pantry in the picture below, it's a bit dull to walk on this floor and we are considering self-leveling compound (?) over it to have a more comfortable floor. Or what can we do about it? Is it self-leveling compound that you use?
Oh, that doesn't look very cozy to walk on. It depends a bit on how much work you want to put into it. Is it somewhat easy to remove those beautiful stones so that the surface becomes reasonably even and firm? Pouring leveling compound directly on that probably carries a risk of cracking quite easily, and it looks like it would add quite a bit of extra height. My suggestion is to use a self-leveling compound that can be used directly as a surface layer, perhaps with some color on it, or alternatively go all in and tile (preferably with a different type of tiles than the current ones).
