We have demolished an interior wall. The ceiling consists of raw wood paneling + fiberboard + gypsum + fiberglass wallpaper. The question is how I can most easily repair the track that has been left through the fiberboard + gypsum? In the track, there is also a VP conduit that is slightly thicker than the fiberboard. The wallpaper will later be filled and painted.
  • fill with strips of gypsum + filler and paper strips?
  • gypsum plaster + filler and paper strips?
  • foam sealant + gypsum and paper strips?
  • cut out wider and insert new gypsum wider than the track (might be difficult due to VP conduit)?
Grateful for advice.

  • Damaged ceiling with a tear showing layered materials: wood, insulation, and gypsum. A VP pipe is visible in the gap, secured with a metal clip.
How wide is the track?

Approximately 6cm

And the length? Does it go from wall to wall? It's never good to try to patch in a piece, then you need to plaster and repaint the entire ceiling. Maybe buy a pre-painted piece that's about 10 cm wide and place it over. It's a matter of taste but the cheapest option. Preferably one that is long enough to possibly go from wall to wall, so it becomes a whole.

How deep is the gap? How much is left over the vpröret?

Are you going to putty the fabric for a smooth ceiling?
It will take a lot of putty and be hard to work above.
Why not tear down the plasterboard and put up new ones.

Good tip, but if it were at my place and the ceiling height wasn't 2.40, I would have just plastered directly onto the weave!
