Hello!
We have some old moisture damage in our dormers - a couple of timber pieces (sorry, I don't know if there's a technical term for them - I'm English!) need to be replaced, and some panels on the facade need to be replaced.
I've opened it up from the inside and concluded that it's easiest to fix from the outside. When I removed everything, I noticed we had some kind of fireproof plasterboard (the house was built in 1974):
Dentition protection cladding (10?) - flame-resistant surface layer Class 1.
Do I need to have fireproof plasterboard??
Do I also need to buy timber with a specific structural strength?
I checked with byggmax, and they say about their 45x95 timber:
"can be used in all building constructions with normal structural requirements."
In that case, for 'normal' house construction, can I use any timber?!
Thanks in advance!
