Have this opening between the basement and the ground floor. It measures 144*140 and the height from the floor is 199 (cm). The landing from above is on the right.
Thinking the last step down will be to the left along the outer wall. Nothing on the lower level obstructs in terms of walls, etc.
Have a spiral staircase, but wondering if anyone knows if the dimensions allow for a fixed one instead.

It is never impossible to have a staircase; the question is just whether it will be particularly pleasant to walk in, but many older houses probably have worse conditions than those with staircases that work well.
You have a point, it might be reassembly of the spiral staircase!
It is nice but needs to be stabilized.

What is the floor-to-floor height measurement? Spiral staircases are emergency solutions that should be avoided, especially to a basement where you might want to carry things. An L-shaped staircase seems suitable if it fits. (Depends on the total staircase height).

If it is two meters from floor to ceiling, I would guess a total of max 2.50, likely a bit less. 13-14 steps should then be sufficient. Ideally, you would want a staircase length of about 3.25-3.50 meters. That's about a meter more than you have with full standing height in an L-shape. But it's quite common for a basement staircase to have slightly shallower steps than ideal, as well as for adult men to have to bend their heads a little to get down.
I would guess that you can have a pretty good staircase built there.

Here you can get dimension drawings of different stairs based on your conditions..

Great, I'll see if it's possible to make an L staircase after all.

I ask again: the height from floor to floor? That is, the basement's height plus the thickness of the floor slab. That is the measurement that determines the staircase conditions.
