I will drill new round holes (about 5 cm in diameter) in the drywall as speaker cables, scart cables, etc. need to be rerouted. This will leave some old holes that need to be repaired. What to do? You can't just fill large holes that go straight through the drywall, can you?

Does anyone have any tips on if there's something that can be put in the new holes so the cables don't have to "rest against the drywall," some kind of box..?

You can drill out the holes with a hole saw of 70 or 80 and place a strip behind. Then drill out round discs with the hole saw and screw them into the strip.

There is a box that the electrician uses for post-installation in walls. I think it's called a rot dosa. But it's larger than 5cm in diameter.

Best regards, Putte

This box is also called a senildosa... and the diameter is just like the regular device box (70mm)."
