Hello,
We have a fireplace in the living room used just for cozy ambiance.
We haven't used it much since we bought the apartment 1 year ago. This morning, I noticed that the back wall of the fireplace has some cracks. It seems like it's just the outer surface that cracked. How do I fix it?
I have zero experience with fireplaces, so any tips are welcome.

Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Cracked fireplace backwall with soot and ash accumulation visible, showing signs of wear.
  • Cracked back wall of a fireplace with visible soot and ash, highlighting surface damage.
Is the stove built from brick? Normal heat wear and nothing I would worry about as long as the brick is not visible.
