Hello
We are extending the house and I'm taking the opportunity to install speakers in the ceiling. However, I'm a bit puzzled when browsing around, especially with British retailers, where it is said that if speakers are installed under, for example, a bedroom, a fire hood must be used. But even Swedish sites sell fire hoods, HIFI Klubben, JD music below) etc., but the explanation for why is very vague.
I can't find clear answers on what applies to fire protection for speaker installation. Does anyone know?

Is a fire protection hood a requirement for my ceiling?
IEE regulation 527-02-01 requires that: Where cable routing is done through a building cell... the excessive opening after cable routing shall be filled in accordance with the fire protection that must be met.
This insulated protective hood helps maintain the fire protection in your ceiling. Designed to fit all Lithe Audio ceiling speakers, but can also be used with other suitable brands.
