Finger jointed outdoors

I'm planning to make posts from two 45x90 for a windbreak. I have a few finger-jointed short studs that would be perfect. But I'm just wondering if it works outdoors with finger-jointed? It will be painted.

It is also used outdoors. A joint is certainly always a joint, but if it's of good quality, I would probably say that laminated wood solutions hold up better than solid wood.

If you can place the joint fairly weather-protected, it might help.

I just became a little puzzled after an acquaintance said that the glue isn't moisture-resistant. Something I don't really think is true, hence the question. But there is finger-jointed paneling and it is meant to be used outdoors.
I'm going with finger-jointed.

What kind of glue are you planning to use?

I will not glue, the studs are glued at the manufacturer when they are finger jointed. I will just screw two studs together into a post.

I have used finger-jointed timber for a deck railing. It is, of course, painted according to all the rules of art. Unfortunately, several of the joints have opened up, which took a couple of years.

It didn't sound good. I'll screw in extra screws at the joints, I have plenty of screws. That way, it doesn't matter if the glue doesn't hold.
