Hello,

I've just removed the carpet from the staircase at home. I'm planning to sand down the wood and paint it with some kind of floor paint. However, I unfortunately pulled out small pieces of the wood (pine) in some areas, mostly around knots. This left ugly marks, holes about 2x2x0.5cm in size... Is it possible to fill these with something and sand it before painting, so you don't see the dents? I've been considering some kind of adhesive... It must withstand the test of time, not shrink, move, and it should be sandable.

Best regards,

Stefan

There is plastic wood/chemical wood that is a filler resembling wood (available in different shades). If you are going to paint, Plastic Padding (PP100) will probably suffice, it should hold.

If you want to do it really bta, you rout out and glue in repair pieces...
