Hello,
I have a house from the 1930s with vertical facade boards. They are on a sloped ledge at a 30-degree angle.
How should the facade boards be positioned in relation to the sloped ledge?
Flush against it or with an air gap?
On an extension, I have placed the boards flush against it but arranged for ventilation from below through holes in the ledge. I'm considering doing the same on my courtyard house, which I am "renovating" (=demolishing and building anew..)
Is there a risk of rot that way?
