Extra ballast in coarse concrete?

Is it possible to mix a bag of regular coarse concrete with extra ballast, such as 8-16? I am going to cast a small foundation under a low wall, so the strength requirements are low.

would guess that you need a little more sand then as well. If you get too much stone in it, it usually doesn't become so "sticky".

If you use slightly larger fractions, you need less sand mixing.
It also affects the strength less.

It used to be common practice to add so-called sparsten to reduce cement consumption. These were coarser stones that were fit in where possible. Often gray stone.
